Wealthy people don't pay their fair share - that's what they say. Never is it made clear exactly what the "Fair share" is, it is defined simply as "more". They claim to know fairness, and know that the rich are not being fair.
Below is recent tax data compiled from the IRS.
It shows that the top 10% or earners pay a staggering 76% of the income tax and earn far less than 76% of the money while the bottom 50% pay little or nothing, and often receive more in benefits than they paid.
So here it is for your liberal friends. Complaining that "The rich don't pay their fair share" without ever defining what that is, or even knowing what each income group is currently paying is just plain lazy. This argument rings very hollow.
